The Flat Earth
PLEASE NOTE: I changed up the way I’m sharing information and am now on Youtube. You should definitely come check out my channel. Click the link, and I’ll see you there! (FYI - My beliefs have changed on some subjects since writing for this website.)
Introduction
Out of all the topics I’ve addressed on this site, this is perhaps the most daunting one for me to write about. Why? Because of its sheer scope and size. I’ve considered addressing this topic here for a good amount of time, and it is with great excitement and dread that I begin. Before diving into this, I have some groundwork to lay.
When I created this site, my sole purpose was to share the truth of eternal salvation. There is an endless supply of bad information out there designed to keep people lost. I had questioned my own salvation for a while and been tossed back and forth between true and false doctrines. As the truth became clear, I learned about the dangerous religion of Lordship Salvation, the actual meaning of repentance, and other similar topics. In the beginning, my focus for this site was to clear up the misconceptions, to help people who might be in the same position as I had been in, questioning their salvation and desperately desiring truth and security. I was content to settle on the topics of how to be saved and assurance of salvation, but I have since addressed a few other topics. This is because I have realized something in my time here: All truth is important, and all truth leads back to God. God is for the truth, because God is truth. Let me show you how deep this goes:
God is truth.
Isaiah 65:16: “That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.”
Jesus Christ is truth.
John 14:6: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
The Holy Spirit is truth.
John 14:16-17: “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”
The Word of God is truth.
2nd Timothy 2:15: “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Satan has taken it upon himself to be God’s opponent. How does he do that? By making himself the opposite of God.
John 8:44: “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
God’s Holy Spirit is truth, while Satan’s spirit is in direct opposition.
1st John 4:6: “We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.”
An error is an inaccuracy, a delusion, the condition of being wrong, etc. Error is opposite of truth.
Satan told the first lies in the Garden of Eden when he lied to Eve (Genesis 3:1-5), and Satan did this to break the relationship that Adam and Eve had with God. Satan has always used lies to separate people from God. One example of this is how Satan has created many religions, as religion requires works and rituals that oppose the simplicity that is in Christ. Thus, religion is a lie that tells you that you must perform well to go to Heaven, rather than simply relying on God’s promises. Another example is how Satan created the theory of evolution, which is a lie, to keep people from the knowledge of God. If you are reading this, you may be well aware of these lies. But what if I told you that there was another lie that was so big that nearly everyone in the world has been fooled into mistaking it for truth? Satan is good at what he does. So good that even if you are saved, there is a massive lie that you more than likely have believed for your entire life. A believer on Jesus Christ will not lose their salvation for believing this lie, but this lie is intended to help keep all those unsaved people out there from ever believing in God. What if we have been lied to about the very ground we stand on?
Sounds like a perfect lead-in to the main article, right? But wait. I’m not finished laying groundwork yet. Because what I have to say is big, and you need to fully understand why we are going down this path.
As stated before, I believe that all truth is important. The purpose of this website was initially to present the simple plan of salvation in a clear way. The main thing I want people to go away from this site with is a clear understanding of how to be saved. Eternal salvation is the most important thing for us to understand, and therefore the way to be saved is the greatest truth that exists. The main purpose for this site remains the same. But there are other truths that are important also, and like it or not, we are living in a time when truth is suppressed and mocked. The term “truther” is used to insult people who ask questions and desire the truth, as if that is a shameful thing to do. And so many people choose to remain plugged into a system where they believe they can get their truth from the media. Meanwhile, though churches once stood for truth, most churches now are either dead, sold out, or in the business of spreading false doctrine. Anyone who is a believer on Jesus Christ should be an advocate for truth as well. But believers are backing down from the truth and settling for lies. Believers are embarrassed to stand behind the truths contained in the Bible. I recently heard someone who claims to be a believer say that because the world is changing, Christians need to change to fit the times. And yet, the Bible says that Jesus Christ remains the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). That goes for God and the Bible, and for truth. It’s time for believers to grow a spine and stand for truth. Nothing is better than the truth.
John 8:32: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Jesus Christ said that the truth sets a person free, and my desire is for this website to be a home for truth. You may not agree with everything I say here, but know that everything I write for this site is done in the interest of sharing truth, and more specifically, the truth as it relates to God and believers. I have been contacted by people who have agreed with things I have stated on this site, and I have been thankful for that, as it reminds me that this site is reaching people. There have been times when I needed encouragement, and right on cue, an email would come through from someone who had read something on my site that struck them in a good way. God has been kind about reminding me that this site serves a purpose. And yes, this kindness also applies to the negative responses I have received, such as the time I was called “dangerous.” And I will always have the fond memory of the lady from Texas who pleaded with me to call her, only to have her tell me that I was unsaved and going to Hell because of my stance on Chick Tracts. (Those tracts give a false gospel message that completely contradicts the true Gospel message presented in Scripture.) These experiences are encouraging. Why? Because you cannot tell the truth without ruffling some feathers. Consider the Apostle Paul, who wrote the book of Galatians as a letter to the churches in Galatia that had become corrupted with a false understanding of how they were saved. They had learned that salvation was by God’s grace, but then false “Christians” led the believers astray by mixing in the law of Moses as a requirement for salvation (Galatians 2:4). Paul wrote a letter to set these believers straight and remind them of the truth. At one point in the letter, Paul asked a very interesting question:
Galatians 4:16: “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?”
Paul found it to be a curiosity that the truth would be opposed by people who were fellow believers. Paul wanted to know if his desire to share the truth with his brothers and sisters in Christ made him their enemy. Truth is largely opposed in our world. Why is that? I would recommend that you read my article “The Uncensored Truth About America.” In that article, I explain how Satan controls much of what is happening in the world. It’s not as far-fetched as you might think. There are two passages of Scripture that make this very clear. Here’s the first:
2nd Corinthians 4:4: “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
Don’t underestimate Satan. He has a very powerful position as “the god of this world”. Keep this in mind as you read the second passage:
Luke 4:5-7: “And the devil, taking him (Jesus) up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.”
How could Satan offer to give Jesus all the power of all the kingdoms of the world? He could only do this if he owned that power and those kingdoms. And he does. Satan is the god of this world, and he blinds people from believing on Jesus Christ. He goes further by blinding people from ever knowing that God exists with lies such as the theory of evolution. Satan is a liar, and with him being the god of this world, you can expect to find lies everywhere. And in a world full of lies, the truth will be hated. Sharing the truth comes with opposition. What I have to say in this article is a truth that will be rejected by most. The following quote is from Mark Twain:
“It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.”
People have a hard time accepting that they have been fooled because it tramples on their pride. No one wants to admit that they could have been tricked into believing a lie. But pride has to be set aside in order for truth to make its way through. Satan is a liar, and he deceives people every chance he gets. In this article, we are going to examine the topic that brings out the absolute worst in some people who are simply too fragile to handle the shakedown it would bring to their inner belief systems. We are going to talk about the flat earth. And no, I am not joking.
Maybe you are shaking your head. Maybe you have already written me off as a crazy person. I totally understand. There was a time when I would have been right there with you. Let me tell you about how I came to switch sides on this topic. I had found someone on Youtube that was making video after video sharing incredible truths, and I was binge watching these videos craving more and more information. And yes, this person is a believer on Jesus Christ, though I do not agree with his personal belief that the Rapture is after the Tribulation, as Scripture clearly teaches a pre-Tribulation Rapture. (See my article “Dividing the Word Part Two” for more on that subject.) Other than that objection, I have much respect for this person and believe that God is greatly using him and his videos. Eventually, I came across some of his videos mentioning “flat earth” in the titles. And I did what most rational people would do: I avoided them. I said, “No, that’s just silly. That’s going too far.” But as I stated before, I have respect for this person, and I finally cracked. My curiosity got the better of me, and I simply had to know what this brother had to say about a subject that sounded like it could only be a joke. All it took was one video, and I was never the same. You cannot break an egg without first cracking it, and that video cracked the shell of my internal belief system, where I believed that I lived on a spinning ball. I began watching every video I could find on the subject, and over the course of about a year, the initial shock turned into a calm understanding. For a while now, I have felt a burden to write about this subject. After all, what good is it to learn something if you are going to hoard the information and not share it? Still, there is the hesitation of bringing up such a topic due to the possibility that said topic will discredit everything else I’ve written in the minds of some people. But ultimately, as I said before, my desire here is to share truth. In the end, it doesn’t really matter what people think of me or my writings, as my job is simply to spread the truth. Truth is passed on by the sharing of knowledge. Knowledge is wisdom, and the Bible teaches that wisdom is crying out to be heard.
Proverbs 1:20-22: “Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying, How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?”
While wisdom cries out for an ear to listen, simple-minded people are content with simplicity, and fools hate knowledge. People reject wisdom for many reasons. Maybe it goes against what they were taught in school. Maybe it goes against what they heard on the news. Maybe it goes against popular opinion. But wisdom is all around us, and we all have to decide what we will do with it. Again, fools hate knowledge, and the Bible further teaches that people should not dismiss a matter until they have truly considered it.
Proverbs 18:13: “He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.”
If you don’t want to entertain the thought of the earth being flat, this is your chance to leave. Just know that fools hate knowledge, and it is shameful to dismiss something without giving it a chance. In the words of Paul, “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?”
If you have an open mind and a hunger for the truth, then read on. There is a ton of information and many compelling clues concerning flat earth. This article is not going to be a comprehensive look at the subject, but rather it is meant to encourage you to open up your mind, ask questions, and seek the truth. I encourage you to research anything I mention here, as well as the many ideas about this topic that I fail to mention. I cannot and will not mention it all here. In the interest of not writing a massive article, I’m going to move quickly. We will begin with material that is going to feel off topic, but everything will be connected in the end. There will be parts of this article that may not seem to belong on this website, but they are pieces of a much larger picture. Stick around and you will see. Now let’s get this party started.
