Adjusted Scripture
PLEASE NOTE: I changed up the way I’m sharing information and am now on Youtube. You should definitely come check out my channel. Click the link, and I’ll see you there! (FYI - My beliefs have changed on some subjects since writing for this website.)
In this section, I have made the changes to Scripture which are necessary for Lordship Salvation to be a truth instead of a heresy. The alterations I have made to the selected Bible verses are quite evident, as they have been underlined and written in bold.
John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him and repents of their sins should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:18: “He that believeth on him, repents of his sins, and surrenders his life to him, is not condemned: but he that believeth and repents not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
John 6:40: “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, and repents of his sins, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”
John 6:47: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me and repents of his sins hath everlasting life.”
John 8:24: “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, and ye do not repent of your sins, ye shall die in your sins.”
John 20:30-31: “And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing and repenting of your sins ye might have life through his name.”
Mark 1:15: “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye of your sins, and believe the gospel.”
Acts 3:19: “Repent ye therefore of your sins, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”
Acts 8:35-38: “Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I repent of my sins and surrender my life to Christ. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.”
Acts 16:30-31: “And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, repent of your sins, and surrender your life to him, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
Acts 17:30: “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent of their sins:”
Acts 19:4: “Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance of sins, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.”

Romans 10:4: “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth and repents of sin.”
Romans 10:9: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, and shalt repent of thy sins, and surrender thy life to him, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:13: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord and repent of sin shall be saved.”
Romans 13:11: “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed and repented of our sins.”
1st Corinthians 1:21: “For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe and repent of their sins.”
1st Corinthians 1:23: “But we preach Christ crucified and the repentance of sin, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;”
1st Corinthians 2:2: “For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified, and the repentance of sin.”
Galatians 2:16: “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, and the repentance of sins, even we have believed in Jesus Christ and repented of our sins, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ and the repentance of sin, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”
Galatians 3:22: “But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe and repent of their sins.”
Galatians 3:26: “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus and the repentance of sin.”
Galatians 5:5: “For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith and repentance of sin.”
Ephesians 1:7: “In whom we have redemption through his blood and the repentance of sin, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;”
Ephesians 1:13: “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed and repented of your sins, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,”
1st Timothy 1:16: “Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him and repent of sin to life everlasting.”
Titus 3:5: “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy and our repentance of sin he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”
1st John 5:1: “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ and hath repented of sin is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.”
1st John 5:13: “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, and have repented of your sins; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
Luke 3:3: “And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance of sins for the remission of sins.”
Luke 18:10-14: “Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I repent of my sins and make you the Lord of my life. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”
Luke 23:39-43: “And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. I repent of my sins. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.”
Luke 24:47: “And that repentance of sins and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”
Do you get the picture yet? Lordship Salvationists must alter Scripture in order to make their unfounded beliefs work.
Now, here’s a fun thing to do. Go back to the beginning of this page and read the verses over again, but this time be sure to omit the parts that are bold and underlined. You will get a much different message this time around. You will see that God loves you so much that He will save you if you simply believe on His Son, Jesus Christ. "Repentance," as it was applied to the topic of salvation, simply means to have a changed mind, to go from unbelief to belief on Jesus. To teach otherwise, one must ignore the plain doctrine of salvation found throughout the Bible.

Would you like to see
how newer Bible translations purposely change Scripture in order to confuse the
meaning of repentance? Look at the following, side-by side comparisons of Bible
verses. We will look at a few verses from the original King James version, and
then we will view the bastardized New King James version updates.
2nd Corinthians 7:8: “For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.”
2nd Corinthians 7:8: “For even if I made you sorry with my letter, I do not regret it; though I did regret it. For I perceive that the same epistle made you sorry, though only for a while.”
According to the New King James “Bible,” Paul did not repent. He merely felt “regret.”
2nd Corinthians 7:9: “Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.”
2nd Corinthians 7:9: “Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing.”
Not so conveniently, the word repentance was not changed here. Funny how sometimes it is changed, while other times it is not. We will find out why shortly.
2nd Corinthians 7:10: “For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.”
2nd Corinthians 7:10: “For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.”
The New King James “Bible” wants you to believe that there are two different experiences here. Repentance and regret. This is a bold-faced lie, however, as the translators of the original King James Bible saw that in both cases in this single verse, the same experience was being related. Repentance simply meant to have a change of mind.
Here’s a good question to ask yourself: If the translators of the New King James “Bible” felt that “repentance” was a difficult word to understand, so they changed it in many places, why didn’t they change it every time? Why only change it in certain places? Do you want to know why? It was a deliberate attempt to make the word repentance better fit the false definition of “turning from sin.” The only places where the words repent or repentance were left untouched were instances where they would appear more naturally to teach a “turning from sin.” So in 2nd Corinthians 7:8, when Paul repented, it had to be changed. God repented many times in the Old Testament, but He does not repent if you read the perverted New King James “Bible.” And what about a verse like Romans 11:29?
“For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”
Don’t worry. They doctored it in the New King James “Bible.”
“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”
Well, that’s strange. In 2nd Corinthians chapter 7, verses 8 and 10, when forms of the word “repent” were altered, the new word was “regret” or “regretted.” But in Romans 11:29, “repentance” was changed to “irrevocable.” Irrevocable doesn’t mean the same thing as regret. At all. They are two entirely separate things. So what happened? Did the translators just change their minds about what “repentance” was for that one verse?
After looking at the many uses of “repentance” in the Bible, one can easily come to the conclusion that a simple change of mind is what is being expressed. However, the New King James “Bible,” as well as the other newer translations, do not want you to understand what repentance is. They all want you to believe that repentance refers to the act of “turning from sin,” so therefore it is something that God could never do, or even the apostle Paul. And why is this hijacking of the word repentance so important to false teachers? Because they want you to believe that you must do something other than simply believe on Jesus Christ in order to be saved. They want you to believe that you must “turn from sin” and/or feel “godly sorrow,” or else God will not save you. Those concepts are not found anywhere in the Bible. They are man-made doctrines, inspired by Satan and appealing to those who are full of pride. The New King James “Bible” is deceitful garbage, and thus it belongs in the trash.
